CHORUS Songwriting CIC is an organisation that runs 4-day songwriting retreats aiming to promote well-being and gender equality in the music industry. It focuses on developing collaborative songwriting skills, building confidence, and strengthening the connections and networks of women and non-binary musicians (ages 18–35) who are underrepresented in the wider music scene.

Our events are designed to support songwriters, many of whom are on low-incomes or unable to afford similar events (which typically cost £400+). Thanks to support from organisations including BIMM University, Arts Council England, and FEAST Cornwall, we’re able to subsidise the ticket cost, making this retreat affordable for those who will benefit most from a creative and connecting experience.

The annual summer retreat takes place at Maker Heights in South East Cornwall, and in winter 2025 we hosted our first winter edition. We are also involved in various other project to support women and LGBTQIA+ communities in the South West.
